App Map

A visual guide to the key screens in Seekt.

Seekt home screen

Home Screen

Launch → Home

The starting point of the app. Two clear paths branch from here: designing hunts as a host, or joining a game as a player.

Host a Hunt Opens the My Hunts screen where you design, manage, and launch scavenger hunts. This is the host's workspace.
Join a Game Opens the join screen where players enter a code or scan a QR code to join a live game. No account required.
How to Play A quick overview of how Seekt works for first-time users.
Plan Badge Shows the current hosting plan (Free, Family, Business, Institutional, or Enterprise) in the top-right corner. Tap to view or upgrade.
My Hunts screen

My Hunts

Home → Host a Hunt → My Hunts

Your hunt library. Every hunt you create or import appears here, sorted by most recent. Each row shows the hunt name, item count, and whether a game zone is set.

Create a Hunt (+) Tap the + button to create a new hunt. Enter a name and optional description. The hunt appears in the list immediately, ready for items.
Hunt List Tap any hunt to open its detail screen for editing. The list supports multiple languages — hunt names appear exactly as you entered them.
Swipe Actions Swipe right on a hunt to duplicate it. Swipe left to delete. Duplicating creates an independent copy you can modify freely.
Active Game Indicator A green arrow icon appears next to hunts that have a game currently in progress.
Hunt detail screen

Hunt Detail

My Hunts → Hunt Name → Hunt Detail

The design workspace for a single hunt. Everything about the hunt is configured here: metadata, play area, items, and game launch.

Hunt Info The hunt name and description. Tap to edit. These are for your reference only — players do not see them.
Share Hunt Generate a share link and send it to another Seekt user. They receive a fully independent copy of the hunt in their library.
Game Zone Define a geographic boundary on the map. Submissions from outside the zone are flagged for review. Optional — skip it for location-flexible hunts.
Items List All the clues and challenges players will complete. Each row shows the clue text, point value, and icons indicating features like auto-scoring, hints, collect objects, and power-ups. Tap to edit, swipe left to delete.
Add Item / From Library Create items from scratch or pull from your reusable item library. The library includes over 200 built-in items plus any you have saved.
Open Game Lobby Creates a live game session with a unique join code and QR code. Takes you directly to the Game Dashboard where you share the code, wait for teams, configure settings, and start the game.
New Item editor screen

Item Editor

Hunt Detail → Add Item → New Item

The full item creation form. Every aspect of a scavenger hunt challenge is configured here. Fields are organized into logical sections, with optional features below the fold so simple items stay simple.

Clue The main instruction players see during the game. This is the only required field — everything else is optional or has sensible defaults.
Points How much the item is worth. Defaults to 100. Use higher values for harder challenges to create a natural difficulty curve.
Reference Photo An optional image shown to players as a visual clue. Take a photo directly or choose from your photo library. Players need to find and photograph the matching location or object.
Answer Mode How players respond: Photo/Video (default), Free Text, Exact Text, Numeric, Multiple Choice, or Barcode Scan. Auto-scored modes give instant results without host review.
Required Photos Set to more than 1 for multi-part items. Players submit multiple photos, with progress tracked as "2 of 3."
Collect Object When enabled, players must physically bring the object back — not just photograph it. Adds a tactile, real-world element to the hunt.
Location Trigger Locks the item until the player arrives near a specific GPS coordinate. A directional arrow guides them to the spot. Great for guided tours or site-specific challenges.
Hints Text hints players can reveal if stuck, or location hints that show a live directional arrow and distance. Optional hint costs let you deduct points for using hints.
Timing & Special Rules Availability Window limits when the item appears. Hidden/Bonus items stay secret until a trigger item is completed. Exclusive (First Claim) items can only be completed by one team.
Power-Up Turns the item into a power-up that grants a score multiplier (e.g. 2x) for the next N items. Adds a strategic layer — teams that grab the power-up early and chain high-value items score big.
Item Library screen

Item Library

Hunt Detail → From Library → Item Library

A reusable collection of item templates. Pick any item to load it into the item editor with its clue, points, hints, and settings pre-filled. Adjust as needed, then save to the hunt.

User Defined Items you have saved from the item editor. This section grows over time as you build up proven challenges. Swipe left to delete items you no longer need.
Bundled Over 200 ready-to-use items that ship with the app, spanning birthday parties, classrooms, corporate events, family reunions, indoor rainy-day games, and quirky outdoor measurement challenges. Pick one as-is or use it as a starting point and adjust the clue, points, or hints to fit your event.
Filters Tag pills along the top filter the bundle by Audience (kids, teens & adults, all ages, corporate, school), Style (standard, quirky, creative, competitive), and Setting (outdoor, indoor, urban, park). Tap multiple to narrow down; tap “All” to clear.
Item Details Each row shows the clue text, point value, number of hints, whether it’s a collect item, and small audience and style tag pills so you can spot at a glance what kind of event the item suits. Tap to select and load into your item form.
Open Game Lobby confirmation dialog

Open Game Lobby

Hunt Detail → Open Game Lobby → Confirmation

When you tap Open Game Lobby, a confirmation dialog appears over the hunt detail screen. This is the transition point from designing to hosting.

Confirmation Dialog Explains what will happen: a game lobby is created for this hunt. Share the join code with players, then start the game when everyone has joined.
Open Lobby Confirms and creates the live game session. Generates a unique join code and QR code, then takes you directly to the Game Dashboard.
Cancel Dismisses the dialog and returns to the hunt detail screen without creating a game.
Game Dashboard in waiting state

Game Dashboard (Waiting)

Open Game Lobby → Game Dashboard

The host's command centre for a live game. This is what you see immediately after creating the lobby. The game status is "Waiting" while players join.

Join Code & QR Code A large QR code and a six-character join code (e.g. QWFKP8). Players scan the QR code or type the code manually to join. Use Show Full Screen to project it on a big screen, or Share QR Code to send via iMessage, email, or AirDrop.
Game Info Shows the current status (Waiting, Active, or Ended) and how many teams have joined so far.
Allow Multiple Phones per Team When enabled, players can request to join an existing team instead of creating their own. A team captain approves or rejects requests.
Start Game Tapping this opens the game settings screen where you configure time limits, scoring bonuses, time-decay, safety check-ins, and home base before launching.
Leaderboard Teams appear in real time as they join. Each row shows the team name, item progress, and score. During the waiting phase all teams start at 0 points.
Start Game settings screen

Start Game

Game Dashboard → Start Game → Settings

The final configuration step before launching. Set the rules for this game session — time limits, scoring bonuses, safety features, and where players should return when the game ends.

Set Time Limit Toggle on to set a game duration using the hour and minute picker. When time runs out, teams can still submit — the timer is a guideline, not a hard stop. The host ends the game manually.
Scoring Bonuses First Finder Bonus rewards the first team to complete each item. Streak Bonus rewards three or more consecutive accepted submissions. Set either to 0 to disable.
Time-Decay Scoring When enabled, items lose value over time, rewarding speed. Teams that find items early earn more points than those who find the same item later in the game.
Safety Check-ins Prompts players to confirm they are OK at a set interval (e.g. every 15 minutes). The host sees which teams are overdue on the dashboard. Ideal for hunts with younger players or large areas.
Home Base Where players are directed to return when the game ends. Defaults to the host's current location. Players see a directional arrow guiding them back.
Start Game Launches the game. All joined teams are notified, the timer begins, and the hunt items become available to players.
Game Dashboard in active state

Game Dashboard (Active)

Start Game → Game Dashboard

The host's live command centre once the game is running. Everything you need to monitor, manage, and control an active game in one scrollable view.

Time Shows the time limit, elapsed time, and remaining time as a live countdown. The timer is a guideline — teams can still submit after it runs out. The host ends the game manually.
Safety Check-ins Shows the check-in interval and current status. A green checkmark confirms all teams have checked in. Overdue teams are flagged so the host can follow up.
Controls Review Submissions opens the grading queue for photo and free-text items. Photo Slideshow cycles through all submitted photos. Live Map shows team locations and the game zone in real time.
Send Announcement Broadcasts a message to all teams instantly. Use it for hints, rule changes, weather warnings, or encouragement. Players see announcements as a pop-up alert.
Extend Time Adds bonus time to the game clock. Useful when teams need more time due to weather, delays, or an underestimated duration.
End Game Stops the game. All teams are notified, the leaderboard freezes, and players are directed back to home base. Game data is retained for 48 hours.
Leaderboard Live rankings showing each team's position, item progress (e.g. 0/8 items), and score. Tap a team to see their individual submissions and approve or reject pending items.
